Lights on the Moon

A few years ago I read Gods and Spaceman in the Ancient West1 by Raymond Drake. I was struck by Drake's reference to the Book of Dzyan and "...the Lords of the Moon descending to the Earth...". More about Helena Blavatsky and the Book of Dzyan in future posts.

Easter Islanders believe that there are people living on the moon. They also believe that an invisible race of people live among us. Colin Wilson mentions this in his book Mysteries2 (he does not quote his source).

Athanasius Kircher3 wrote that, according to the medieval Arab scholar Abubacer, the Sabaeans believed "...Adam was born from male and female, just like the rest of mankind, but they honored him greatly, and said that he had come from the Moon, that he was the prophet and apostle of the Moon, and that he had exhorted the nations that they should serve the Moon. . . . They also related about Adam that when he had left the Moon and proceeded from the area of India towards Babylonia, that he brought many wonders with him".

There appears to be an ancient tradition that the moon is or was inhabited. More recently there have been reports of "prehistoric ruins" sighted on the moon and even suggestions of an "alien presence" there. Certainly hundreds of strange occurrences such as lights on the moon can be found in the astronomical and meteorological records of the last few centuries.
