The Pope's Anti-Miracles
The Vatican is in a hurry with the canonisation of Pope John Paul II. So far Pope John Paul II has scored just one miracle. Apparently he needs another if he is to achieve sainthood. The rules say a score of at least 2 miracles is required.
The question is, what about anti-miracles? I suppose the Vatican deducts a point for each anti-miracle. That's minus one for each of his failures to do the following:
(1) stop child abuse by clergy and prosecute offenders
(2) support use of condoms for contraception
(3) promote use of condoms for prevention of AIDS
(4) recognise the rights of homosexual men and women
(5) respect the dignity and equality of women
What will the Vatican do with Pope John Paul II if his final tally is say -3 or -4?
