Delusions of Geocentricity
Humans all suffer from delusions of geocentricity to some degree. It's natural and intuitive to think that Earth is at the centre of the universe. However, science and logic tell us otherwise. There are an estimated 200-400 billion stars in our home galaxy and it is now thought that most of these have a planetary system of some sort. Multiply this by an estimated 100-200 billion galaxies in the observable universe. "The scale of things is too vast to have a human significance, whence a secret desire to reduce it, to escape the dread infinity...". - V.A. Firsoff, Life Among the Stars, Wingate UK 1974.

To see the World in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour
WILLIAM BLAKE
As in one atom
So in all atoms,
All worlds enter therein ....
So inconceivable is it.
