Supernaturalism vs Materialism

Humans have a need to find reasons and explanations for everything. When something is too complex to understand people often resort to mysticism. But who needs mysticism? It's reasonable to expect scientific method. Failing that, the simplest answer is generally the best: "We don't know". Nevertheless, there seem to be two diametrically opposed views of the world - the supernatural (or spiritual) view and the material (or physical) view.
