Are Australians Immortal?
My old 1930's Oxford dictionary defines a soul as: (1) the immaterial part of man regarded as immortal; (2) the organ of emotion, thought and will; (3) human being; (4) spirit essence. But what is implied by the phrase "regarded as immortal"?
Checking my 1990's edition of the Macquarie (ie Australian) dictionary: (1) spiritual part of person; (2) inner nature, emotional and mental; (3) person: a kindly soul. No mention of immortality in this definition. Does this mean Australians don't have an immortal soul?
