Blavatsky's Hidden Masters

Helena Blavatsky founded the Theosophical Society in 1875, and in 1888 she published the Secret Doctrine. One of her key concepts was that of the Hidden Masters, a hierarchy of spiritual beings who govern the solar system. Millions of years ago a council of seven such immortals on Venus chose one of their number to go and look after Earth. Of particular interest to Star Trek fans will be the importance of Vulcan in the grand scheme of things.
