Occultism is a Religion

Occultism is "...a religious way of thinking..." according to Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke. In other words, it is a belief system and not a science, as some occultists like to think. Science applies scientific method to study the universe, both the visible and the invisible. Science relies on observation, measurement, reason and logic, whereas occult "knowledge" is acquired purely through mysticism. Occultism often borrows from science, trying to create the impression that it has some substance and meaning.
