The Phobos & Deimos Mystery
Jonathan Swift wrote Gulliver's Travels in 1727. In the chapter entitled A Voyage to Laputa he describes the two moons of Mars. But telescopes of the time were simply not strong enough to see the small moons. It wasn't until 1877 that the moons were actually discovered and named by astronomer Asaph Hall. So how did Swift know?
